Fish and chips

Don't order the fish and chips with a side salad. You won't get the fries, even though you say, "I'd like the fish and chips,with the choice of salad , the way it is offered on the menu." What part of fishandchips don't you get? The waiter argued with me and it was embarrasing :cry
