Our Directory

We have done our best to collect all the information available on Whatcom county eateries. This is a huge undertaking with a small mountain of information to sort through. So as not to overwhelm, we offer many different ways for you to search our extensive database. 

Directory
The directory is the backbone of Eat Whatcom. With the directory, you can search our database via the categories and locations. You can sort the results of your search even further with our drop down sorting box. Sorting options include alphabetical, date created, date modified, hits (views) and rating.

Main Menu
The main menu has drop down menus that access the directory database. 

Search
Eat Whatcom contains a very powerful search tool. You can search for any keyword, such as a phone number pre-fix or a street address. The results can be organized by creation date, popularity, alphabetically or by category.

Quick Search Box
The quick box located on Eat whatcom's home page contains a link to each cuisine and community listed in our database. We also added the common sub-category types in the quick search box.

User Guide 

Registration 
To use the comment system or to submit restaurant information it is required that you become a registered user. You can register by clicking HERE or by clicking the  " No account yet? Register " text found on the right. After filling out the required information, an email will be sent to the supplied email address. In the email will be a confirmation link. Click this link and you will be confirmed as a new member. If you did not receive a confirmation email, look in your spam folder. We have reports of this being a problem for some users.

Log-in
You can log-in using the user name and password that you created in the registration process. The log-in box can be found on the right side of the page. After log-in, the log-in box will turn into a user menu. From this menu you can edit your user information, see your saved favorite restaurants, submit feed back or submit restaurant information. 

Your Details
You can edit your account information here. Update your email address, change your password or user name.

My Favorite Restaurants
This is a collection of restaurants that you 'bookmarked'. To create a favorite, go to a restaurant that you wish to bookmark. Near the bottom of the restaurant listing, click the favorites symbol. This restaurant is now saved in your favorites. Next time you log-in, you can go directly to your favorite restaurant's page.

Submit Feed Back
We are always interested in your feed back. Site errors, broken features, cheers / jeers... what ever you feel that we should know.

Submit Restaurant Information
This is the restaurant submission form. If you are a restaurant owner and you would like to include your restaurant or update your restaurant's information, fill out this form. We will confirm your restaurant's listing and place it in our database for free! If your restaurant is already in our database and you wish to update the information, follow the same process.

Comment Rules & Etiquette

Thank you for choosing to participate in the EATing community. To use our commenting system, you first must register for an account. We require registration to ensure the quality of the feed back and comments. We do not employ an anonymous comment system. Anonymous commenting invites abuse and spam. Registered users are able to comment, save favorite restaurants in a 'favorites' area and submit restaurant information. Your e-mail address will not be publicized on Eat Whatcom, nor will we share your personal information with any one else.

We welcome your comments and reviews, but please adhere to a few guidelines and rules.

Defamatory Content
Defamatory content will be deleted.

Vulgarity
Remember we are a family website. While we do employ technology to aid in keeping profanity off our site, creative minds come up with creative solutions.  Please utilize your creativity for a more productive purpose.
